Kelly McArter is an HR professional with over 10 years of HR and professional experience in a variety of industries. Since joining HR Advisors Group in 2017, she has successfully applied her diverse HR experience to provide guidance and direction in multiple areas, including HR foundational and talent acquisition strategy, as well as tactical services to a wide array of clients. Some of her notable work has included career path development, HR assessments, strategic planning, engagement surveys, and training and development programs.
Kelly brings a lot of energy and an upbeat approach to her work. Every project Kelly has touched since joining HR Advisors has had positive impacts and results with our clients and teams. A graduate of Virginia Tech, she holds a B.S. in Biology.
Yes, my degree is in Biology! I had a career switch early on in my career, pivoting from a life of solitary laboratory research to the more people-focused HR profession, and I’ve never looked back! Although I’ve hung up the lab coat for good, I am grateful for the perspective a scientific career has given me while working with clients in an array of technical fields.
My favorite thing about HR is that it’s the heart of any business. It’s the place where organizational success and employee wellbeing meet. I love working with people in all aspects of HR, whether it is helping executives uncover their strategic vision or talking with an employee to help them choose the right benefits plan for their family. I believe that every person in an organization has value, and when you figure out what makes your people tick, you can nurture them to be their best, and that makes your organization really shine.
I also have a love for cooking, reading, writing, the great outdoors, and spending time with my family, who keep me busy and inspired every day! I enjoy being creative and tackling new challenges, which makes HR consulting the perfect career for me, as there is no one-size-fits all solution to any problem in the HR world.
